MEET CLARA
Clara Richardson-Olguin is a small business owner and community leader, living in Gwinnett County for over 18 years. Born & raised in the Dominican Republic, Clara moved to the United States in 1997 with a law degree and a passion for performing arts, pursuing a career in entertainment law. While working and continuing her education, Clara also launched her own music and art production, Vivelo (Live it!) in 2001, and became a U.S. Citizen in 2008.
In 2005, Clara and her husband Cesar moved to Lawrenceville and started a family. Navigating significant healthcare needs with their second child, Clara switched gears and partnered with her husband to run their business, CIC Flooring. Gaining experience and industry certifications, Clara helped expand service offerings, opened a showroom and earned recognition and awards from associations and colleagues throughout the business community.
Grounded in conservative ideals, values and morals, Clara is devoted to giving a voice to those principles that unite her with the community. As a Republican, Clara is a strong advocate for pro-life policies, and will protect our constitutional rights. She will advocate for small business growth, improved education, lower taxes, reduced regulation and quality healthcare solutions.
As an immigrant, a Latina businesswoman and a mother, Clara is driven to set an example for her family, her community, and to give back to this district that has provided her with so many opportunities to achieve the American Dream. Clara has a lifelong history of serving others, and recognizes that representing Georgia’s 7th district in the State Senate will leverage her background, education and experience in a way that makes a bigger impact.
Clara and her husband Cesar have four children and their family remains actively involved in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where Clara continues to perform with the Hispanic Choir and direct the children's choir in the annual Christmas concert.
